Do you remember going to camp as a kid and on the last night everyone would all sit around the campfire and throw their pinecones one by one into the fire? (The pinecones represented our sin or something we wanted to let go of in our life). This was always a moving experience. Recently there was an article about a group of women who had gathered at a nearby park for a prayer walk. One woman shared her insight . . .

"I remember picking up the piece of wood and being asked to throw it into the river and allow God to wash it down river. I realized something about myself: I wanted something to keep to remind me of situations I've overcome. I struggled with letting go of the piece of wood, because I wanted to take it home with me as a reminder. How ironic. God wants to release me, and I want to hang on and remember."

"I did let go of my piece of wood and didn't bring it home with me. It was a good learning experience for me - and one I've shared with others."

Let go and watch your obstacles and problems float away as you trust God and release them to Him!
